inHarmony Podcast E10: Vibration and Building a Daily Practice of Reflection with Beverly Kingsford

For Beverly Kingsford, the path to inHarmony began with decades of curiosity around holistic health, energy work and the role of vibration in human experience.

In this episode, Beverly joins Craig to talk about discovering the Sound Lounge while researching new approaches for her family, and how that first experience eventually became part of both her personal routine and professional work.

Beverly shares how she uses inHarmony at the beginning and end of her day, why she introduces clients to sound and vibration before deeper reflective work, and how the technology fits alongside meditation, energy work, affirmations, somatic practices and shadow work.

She and Craig also explore the idea of creating intentional space to slow down, the role of music in supporting self-reflection, and why personal growth is rarely a straight line.

A conversation about awareness, ritual, inner work and the tools that can help create enough stillness to listen more closely to yourself.

This is the InHarmony podcast. Real conversations with the people living and working with our technology. How it's changing their days, their families, their practices, and their communities. Posted by our co-founder, Craig Goldberg. Let's get InHarmony. All right. Beverly, thank you so much for being here. It's such an honor, and I'm grateful to have you here. Great to be with you. I always love to be with what I call peeps on the path. My people on the path. I love that. I love that. So look, you've been using our technology for a little under a year, and if you can, take me back to what was happening in your life or your practice right before you brought InHarmony in. What were you looking for, and how did we fill that void? Well, honestly, I wasn't even looking for it, but I found that when things are supposed to come into your space and into your consciousness, they appear. They come through the right channels, and my journey with all of health and healing and the holistic world started probably about 40 years ago, and probably much like yours, where I had my first baby had constant recurrent ear infections, so I was looking for any way to break into something different than the traditional medicine, and that took me into the holistic health world, which took me into massage therapy, took me into the energy world, and back in, well, I opened my business back in 2001, and then in 2006, I actually wrote a book called Living in a Higher Vibration. Funny enough, it fits perfectly with the technology that you're doing, and about two years ago, I was in a deeply intense journey meditation and was given the answer, the information that vibration and frequency was going to become even more important in the coming years, and I didn't know exactly what that meant, but that started me down a journey. I was searching at the time that I came across your technology. I was doing research on ketamine therapy for, we have six children. We have, they're all adults now, eight grandkids. We have an adult autistic son that also suffers with major depressive disorder, and he was in the army. He was coming back from Germany to stay with us to try and heal, and that's when I started looking into the ketamine therapy. Went to the ketamine clinic here in Idaho Falls, and while we were waiting, they said, hey, do you want to check out this bed? And I'm like, yeah, sure, why not? I love vibration, love energy, so laid on it, and my husband was sitting in the corner, and as soon as it started, I'm like, oh, my gosh, get your butt over here. You have to lay on this with me and check it out, and immediately, I just fell in love with it, and I was like, oh, that was really powerful, and as I began to research it more and learning more what it does with blood flow and stimulating cell repair and serotonin endorphins and lowering the heart rate, all these things that I'm trying to help my clients with, I just went, oh, we've got to add this, and so it's been an incredible complementary therapy to the energy therapy, to the shamanic journeys, to meditation, doing affirmations, somatic release. I start my day every day. That is the first thing I do while I'm still kind of in that liminal state, you know, and then slide out of bed, and I go down to my therapy room and lay on that and start my day with that and just kind of ask, you know, what's the best program to do today and sit with that, and then I go into my morning routine with my cacao ceremony and all the fun little things that I do to keep it up. Morning in your house sounds blissful. It's awesome. It's awesome, and then we end the night. Every night, my husband and I, we utilize that for ourselves before we go to bed, too, and I just pretty much sleepwalk from the bat bed into my bed, and it really helps with sleep. I found that the sleep is more restful. I feel like it doubles your sleep when you use the bat bed first, so that has been kind of how I came about it. I mean, look, you went right into my second question, which was walk me through what a session actually looks like for you, which you nailed. How does it fit into your day? What does it look like for you when you get up from a session? So you've kind of nailed all of that already, and I'm grateful. Yeah, yeah. Personally, it's been a great add. A lot of times when you're in a therapeutic, healing, facilitating, mentoring type of business, sometimes you don't take care of yourself as much as you should, and so this has been a great add for me personally to be able to have that start and end to my day that really helps with everything that comes in between. With clients, it has been incredible, so when people come in to see me, they're usually struggling with something. They're usually looking for answers either in the holistic health world and resetting their biology, or they're suffering with a dysregulated nervous system or trauma. They're coming in to do shadow work, and I've found that this has been such an incredible tool to start them on the bat bed and to just give them that moment because they're coming in from crazy life and everything that's going on, and it gives them that space to really reset their nervous system so that we can get in and do the work that we need to do as client and facilitator. How do you explain shadow work to somebody that's not familiar with it? It's incredible. Shadow work has been practiced in almost every culture throughout all of history. Carl Young, of course, went deeply into it. We're just getting ready to go into our annual retreat where we go up to Island Park and Cabin and have an intimate group of people doing the shadow work, and that's just taking those parts of ourselves. We all have our light and our shadow, and the shadow isn't necessarily bad, but it has a purpose and it has a message for us, and if we take the time and put ourselves in the setting where we can speak to that part of ourselves, we can learn the message and integrate our shadow with our light and become a more whole person. That's the cliff note version. Yeah, absolutely, and I know the depth and the encyclopedias that can be written on this. I was a psychology major in college, so we dove into a lot of this. In a more formal medical perspective, less the more psychedelic and energy aspect of things, ritualistic, ceremonial side of things. Beverly, if you can lower the volume on my voice on your side just a little bit, I'm getting a little bit of feedback. Shadow work for me, it's about the yin and the yang. It's about the light and the dark, and that message that the shadow has for us becomes one of the reasons why I feel like we're here. Not we being as a humanity, but we as an individual, and inside the shadow work often are the lessons that we couldn't learn or haven't learned yet. The lessons that we're here in this earthwalk to experience and grow from to ascend our spiritual guidance and our spiritual path to the next level, whatever that looks like. It's called work, which I think is really interesting because we think about working an eight-hour day or going to work versus play versus home time, right? Work. They call it work because it is work, and it takes effort, like pushing a rock up a hill. It's not always comfortable. It's not always fun. It's not always enjoyable, and yet it is such an important aspect and a reflection back to why we're here and what we can learn in this earthwalk at that time in our life because it's constantly changing, ebbing, and flowing. You might sit down, do some good work, only to realize that now something else has come up. You're like, oh, man, I thought we dealt with this already. Either it's the same lesson coming back, your shadow coming back being like, hey, not done yet, Craig, or another aspect that seems so far out of left field that now, all of a sudden, you're like, oh, now I got this to deal with. I'm actually heading out to the desert tonight with five of us, and we're going to sit by the fire, get out in the nature, have a little bit of ritual and ceremony by the lake, Lake Mead, and maybe do some shadow work. I mean, that's the thing. You never really know what type of work you're going to be doing. I'm just excited to get out there into nature. Whatever presents. Yeah. Whatever presents itself, we'll deal with it, and we'll learn from it. Yeah, and that learning, it happens on a spiral. We don't just go here and up and up and up. It's on a spiral, and we come back around, and you do find yourself going, dang it, thought I took care of that. I study spiral dynamics, which obviously talks to that a lot. Sometimes I feel like it's not even a consistent spiral up. Sometimes I feel like it's this mishmash of a circle of like, man, I'm here again? Really? All right, so let me bring it back to the technology and why I think it's so important. Two reasons. The first is the learning, the work, the education, and that experience that we have to up-level is easier, from my perspective, to do from a parasympathetic nervous system response from a rest and digest, grounded, rested perspective. I love your process of using it in the morning, using it at night, and capping the day with a start and finish. You might even throw one in in the middle of the day. That's kind of higher profile. Yeah, absolutely. Like, I think I And when I first got access to this technology, which is 10 years ago this month, I was on this technology three times a day consistently. First 90 days, it was just part of my routine, morning, noon, and night. I knew I was going to get benefit from enjoying 11, 22, 33, having a session, and getting that going. And you already kind of touched on this next question. Maybe we can dive a six. Beautiful children. That is impressive. I have one, and she's six and a half right now. And I feel like I'm in it. Like, I don't have a morning routine. My morning routine is getting everything off the Apogee. And my evening routine is getting her into bed and then figuring out what I couldn't get done during the day and knocking that out. Right? And it's just kind of the world we live in. I love it when biohackers talk about morning and evening routines and parents are just like, you don't have kids. Yeah, I'm 62. I get to do that now. But I paid my dues earlier. I'm looking forward to it. I'll get there. So who else in your world has ended up on it? And just talk a little bit more about family clients, maybe somebody who was skeptical. I know you and your husband gravitated towards it. But like, maybe there's a client or or a, an avatar or demographic that that has gravitated and found benefit with our technology? Well, pretty much all Yeah, all of my family at this point has had an opportunity to try it. They love it. They're my kids are kind of scattered. They're grown. So when they come back here, they go to the bed. It's like, Hi, mom, I'm going to the bed. So it's great for them to be able to use that my husband and I are fortunate to have that right with us every day so that we can use it. But it it has been incredible for my clients. And I have to tell you, oh my gosh, the the womb program that has been so powerful for so many and I can't even hardly sit with them in it without just coming to tears because and that's one thing I love about the programs with this. They are so intentionally created. And you feel the vibration of frequency behind the program with which it was created. And the inner child one that's the guided I love that there's a if we have time, I'll tell you a story later about that. Absolutely. When that one came up, so rarely I get to go and do my own work with other facilitators and went to do something. And this old 14 year old, you know, we need to deal with this. And I'm like, what the heck? Not on my mind at all. I came home. I wanted to lay down on that bed and to do a program after that experience. And lo and behold, there was the inner child one had just popped up. Are you kidding? I put it on. It sounds like it's in a 14 year old boy. It's really right. So Anthony, shout out to Anthony Weiss, our director of harmonics, who makes our music for the last six years. And and there is a ton of intention that goes into creating on the front end. And look, it's a ton of feedback from our telegram group and our community of what they're looking for. It's also paired with Anthony and his life experience and what he's pulling from from the field as to what needs to come up next. There's a ton of intention that goes into the research and understanding the different frequencies, the tuning. There's obviously plug ins and different things that we get to do with the music to make it more immersive. There's the evolution of the technology. Anthony and I talk probably four times a week. I'm scheduled to talk with him. Actually, my next call is with Anthony here. And we talk through what's coming up for him. Indeed. And and Anthony is in a big transition phase right now. Hence higher self activation and then inner child and then self rebirth. These are our last few music meditations that we've released. And the intention. Intention is so important in the work that we do and the work that you do using our technology and just talking or thinking about what your intention is for that session. And when you align that with the intention behind the creation of the music meditation, whether it's reflection or anxiety or breath of the wind or walking each other home or patience or gratitude, I still can't live. I still can't listen to patience. And patience is an interesting music meditation. Just point some attention towards that. It goes. Anthony went against music theory for that. So there's a lot that goes into the cadence. So the cadence of patience is designed to to test your patience. And and and I I'm still working on that myself. Anything else you want to share on that? Always learning with that one for sure. Yeah, that's I just love how they've been created. And I was explaining this to a client the other day that it's kind of like you've got meditation and mindfulness over here, you have psychedelics over here. And in the middle, you have the in harmony. It's like, you know, that takes you into an altered state where you can get out of that default mode network and see things in a different perspective in a different light. And that's so powerful. And we are in a moment in time right now where there is a huge shift happening in humanity and in mental health. All the things that have happened this last year on the mental health front, we are starting to get it right. And I'm so excited that we are shifting away from these drugs and things that are have come with so many side effects and really are not very effective to things that are more natural and much more effective. I'm currently in school to get my license to be a psychedelic assisted therapist, because I see that that's where it's going. And this technology matches so well with that to help us get into that part of our brain where we can actually do the work. It is super exciting to see where this is going. And the in harmony technology, oh my gosh, much love. I am so grateful for that. That has been an incredible add to what I've been doing for the last 30 years. And I usually start my clients out with a session. And then often we do another session on the bed while I'm working with them, while I'm facilitating and moving the energy and helping them go into a different thought process where they can really dive in deep and heal. And it has been such a blessing in my work. I just want to thank you so much for everything that you're doing, and how well you take care of our community. I love that, that we're just like a family. First of all, you're welcome. And thank you for sharing that it is received. And I'm grateful. I was at my desk until 11 o'clock last night. It's a labor of love. And it doesn't even feel like work, to be honest with you. I love this community. You said something that I want to reflect back to you and give my perspective on, which is when I am immersed in our community, talking to folks like you that are using our technology, talking to prospective clients that are thinking about opening wellness centers, med spas, and different applications of our technology, creating content, talking to that audience and getting the message out in doing what we're doing, going to psychedelic conferences, going to trade shows, and places where I'm meeting with functional doctors and professionals in our space that are already using ancillary modalities. And it's very easy for me to see the trajectory and be immersed in a world, in that world. And then to where we started, you've got some time in politics. And so now all of a sudden you're faced with this other universe that isn't as immersed and focused. And watching what's happening in the world for, let's just say, the general public to catch up to the work that we've been doing and the modalities that we utilize and the message that we have to share. It's really beautiful. And look, it's why we're here. Dom, myself, our entire team, we're bringing this technology to the world, creating music and hardware, and that's awesome. And at the same time, we get to have our impact through you and the InHarmony user base and folks that purchase our technology. I know that it's going to activate a new community, a new household, a new family. And I get really choked up when I start to think about the impact that we have and how we have that impact through you and your practice and your process. I'm very, very grateful and very honored. It's a beautiful thing to be a part of, and it's exciting. There's a lot of difficult challenges that we're faced with in the world today, but at the same time, the polarity, the other end of that is that we have beautiful things coming and people are just experiencing such an incredible shift and the tools that are available today that weren't when I started this 40 years ago, there were so little and it was all woo-woo and, you know, I actually got called the witch doctor in the first town where I opened my business, but then people would secretly come to me. But we're shifting to where this is more mainstream and we have these tools and this technology and it is creating a beautiful thing and I'm just excited about where we're going and this is a great tool for us. So again, thank you so much. You're so welcome. Thank you. It reminds me of the old adage, you don't need to believe in my magic for me to know it's going to work. I love it. Right? To those that don't understand or see, we perceive the world around us through our five senses and that sensory perception is different for each of us. There's some general rules as far as what we can hear, the frequencies that our ears activate, our nose and our voice and our eyes and what we can see and feel. And part of my daily meditation is allow me to see the things that I couldn't see before. Allow me to hear the things I couldn't hear before. Allow me to smell the things I couldn't. I go through all the senses in an effort to expand my perception of this reality and ask my body to continue to grow and expand so that I can see things that others can't see or I could see things that I could not see prior to bringing it into my awareness. And that happens on a physical standpoint, an emotional, a mental, and allowing me to see what I couldn't see before to open my eyes and bring into my awareness, literally commanding my brain and the reticular activator system and the filters in the brain, the default mode network, all the things giving me the ability to grow and see things unlike I could see them before. And we're on our path, you for as long as you've been doing it, me for as long as I've been doing it. And then we meet somebody getting coffee who is just beginning their journey or ideas to what we do. And we just drop a couple little things of like what we do and the experiences we've had and what we share. And they get enlightened and opened up and a little bit more gets brought into their awareness. Meeting people where they are becomes really important and not expecting them to know or have experienced what we've experienced and instead give them the ability to start where they're at, have a new experience, awaken and broaden their awareness a little bit more. And I am so grateful for this conversation. Anything you want to close with? I'm excited about where this is going. I am excited about the technology that's available. And I'm excited about the inner technology that everybody has. They can touch that space too. Everybody has that ability. And there are so many good people and good groups and good organizations forming that are spreading this light and energy. And it's wonderful. Maybe someday we can sit in ceremony together. I would love that. I would love meeting people who are bringing this light to the world. And Harmony is definitely doing that. There's a not too distant future that has me traveling in my RV. I don't know if it's going to be full time, but my wife and I had to build this business. We traveled the country full time in a motor home before we had our daughter. And there is a timeline that I am doing that again a fifth wheel. We never did the Pacific Northwest, which would include Idaho. And yeah, there is absolutely a long trip coming up in my future. I don't know exactly when that's going to happen. Maybe it'll be this winter. Maybe it'll be over the holidays. And maybe not given the snow and what's in the forecast for this year. But there's absolutely a trip for us to head north. I am so grateful. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you for sharing. And I'm going to play a quick outro and I'll see you in the studio on the other side. Thank you, Beverly. Thanks, Karim. Thanks for spending time with us on the InHarmony podcast. If today's conversation resonated, share it with someone who needs it. And come find us at IamInHarmony.com. Until next time, stay in harmony.
